SAP EDI Business Analyst

Job Summary
The EDI Business Analyst provides support to company and its trading partners. He/She supports all EDI related business projects and is responsible for the implementation and/or maintenance of all new and/or existing EDI business processes and projects. The EDI Business Analyst is also responsible for ensuring all customer and user inquiries or problems are quickly and adequately addressed.
Essential Functions:
• Installs EDI software per company specifications, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for development and maintenance of EDI software applications (Gentran Integration Suite).
• Coordinates business relationships with defined trading partners.
• Develop EDI Maps according to Customer and Vendor Requirements.
• Build Business Process using GIS’s Graphical Process Module.
• Troubleshoots EDI issues in GIS and SAP IDOC.
• Consults with users, management, and IT to implement EDI based tools in support of the business plan.
• Maintains bar code labeling systems and Bartender software.
• Builds and Maintains trading partner barcode labels.
• Develops user documentation for improved user efficiency.
• Responsible for development of interfaces between EDI software and the business applications.
• Escalates critical issues through appropriate channels.
• Support intercompany data communication (FTP, VAN and EDIINT/AS2).
• Analyze and evaluate requirements for customer inbound and/or outbound mapping requirements that will facilitate customers EDI interfaces.
• Prepare detailed mapping specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer, communication and interaction between various functional organizations and the Information Technology department.
• Proactively participate in the integration between related SAP functions with other Business Analysts.
Skills and Abilities:
• Minimum 3 years’ configuration experience building and maintaining in EDI maps using an Industry Standard Mappings tools.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of flexibility and to learn and support new applications.
• Solid comprehension and listening skills.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with numerous departments and employees.
• Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong ‘people’ skills are essential to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Good understanding of various SAP system landscapes.
• Ability to work with multiple priorities in delivery and project organizations.
• Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Ability to travel 5% of the time (domestic and international).
Education and Training:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field highly desirable.
• Experience in GIS (mapping, BP and TP setup).
• SAP experience highly desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of desktop and laptop functionality.
• MCP or MCSE certification desirable.
