Job Description:

 

Direct responsibility for the design, maintenance, andsupport of Data Warehouse Systems.  The developer requires a high level ofanalytical and creative skills and an in-depth knowledge of database structure,data warehouse configuration, methodology, design, and modeling.  Thedeveloper's typical duties includes but not limited to designing and buildingdata warehouses,   designing ETL architectures and procedures, performing analysis, SQL scripting,  tuning and optimization on very large(multi-terabyte) databases, managing capacity planning and performanceanalysis,  working with application developers to design and developdatabase objects and structures according to project specifications, addressingdata quality issues with users, vendors and management,  analyzingorganizational data requirements and creating logical and physical Data Flow Diagramsand Entity Relationship Diagrams using tools such as Visio and Erwin. Must beable to work with and within a cross-functional development, QA and productionteam.

 

Skills Required:

 

Effectively develops complex Teradata SQL coding (use oftemp/volatile tables, complex joins, etc.)

Effectively performs - ETL on large data volumes while addressing out of spoolconditions, query optimization, etc.) , requirements analysis, data profiling,data/information research, data/information analyses, data cleansing includingidentification of data anomalies, post load data/load quality checks

Experienced with dimensional database concepts, relational database concepts,data integration initiatives, data movement initiatives

Possesses strong analytical thinking skills

Effectively creates clear and concise documentation, produces source to targetmaps, understands and validates metrics

Effectively determines project scope and priorities, plans and coordinatestasks across multiple teams, determines, manages, and escalates risk,multi-tasks (i.e., works on multiple tasks/same project and/or multipleprojects), works in a team environment, communicates and liaisons withnon-technical personnel (e.g., customers, stakeholders, etc.) and technicalpersonnel (e.g., data modelers, developers, DBAs, etc.)

 

Experience implementing technical projects. Demonstrated PC proficiency to include Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access. Knowledge and experience with SQL.
